RECOMMENDATION
Staff requests Council approve this authorization request.

INTRODUCTION
The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LACMTA) has established a contracting opportunity seeking bidders to provide law enforcement services as part of LACMTA's multi-layered model approach to promote public safety.

LACMTA is seeking proposals from law enforcement organizations.

DISCUSSION
The Beverly Hills Police Department is reviewing the Request for Proposal (RFP) for this contracting opportunity and evaluating whether to submit a proposal to provide law enforcement services to LACMTA for the Wilshire/La Cienega and Wilshire/Rodeo transit stations. The purpose of this item is to request that Council authorize the City Manager to submit a transit law enforcement services proposal from the City of Beverly Hills Police Department (BHPD) to the LACMTA. The current submission deadline is August 8, 2022, but there may be amendments forthcoming, per LACMTA, to extend this deadline.
