RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council move to accept the described work with Crosstown Electrical & Data, Inc. and authorize the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of Completion.
INTRODUCTION
This report provides information to City Council for acceptance of the contract work in the final amount of $1,393,554.79 and authorization for the recordation of the Notice of Completion with Los Angeles County Recorder, by the City Clerk. DISCUSSION This project included updated hardware/software upgrades at forty-one intersections, intersection monitoring and vehicle detection cameras at ten intersections, video detection at five intersections, GPS emergency vehicle preemption units and hardware/software installation in the Public Works Department Traffic Management Center. The project included a change order for the installation of new signal poles and software/hardware for signalized left turn lanes at the intersection of Olympic/Beverly/Beverwil.
On June 18, 2019, a contract in the amount of $1,312,797 was awarded to Crosstown Electrical & Data, Inc. (Crosstown) on the basis of sealed competitive bids received on May 23, 2019 from four bidders.

Crosstown was issued a notice to proceed on August 05, 2019, and construction was substantially completed on December 15, 2021. Civil Engineering Division personnel inspected all the work and are satisfied that the work was completed in accordance with the contract documents approved for this project. FISCAL IMPACT The original construction contract purchase order (which included a $196,920 contingency amount) was $1,509,717. The final contract amount is $1,393,554.79, leaving a purchase order balance of $116,162.21. Metro has reimbursed the City $310,209.03 for the portion of work related to traffic mitigation per the Section 2 MOA. The current amount paid on the contract is $1,323,877.05 with a retention balance of $69,677.74 due to be paid 35 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
