INTRODUCTION
Provided for your review and approval are a list of proposed City Council meeting dates from January 2023 through April 2023.
DISCUSSION
Per the Beverly Hills Municipal Code, regularly scheduled City Council meetings are held on the first and third Tuesdays of the month. Any date changes to City Council meetings require Council approval.
The following alternate dates (marked with * on the list) are proposed due to holidays and other events that conflict with regular meeting dates:
- City Council Meeting: Propose Tuesday, January 24, 2023 instead of Tuesday, January 17, 2023 due to the U.S. Conference of Mayors. - Installation/Re-Organization: Tuesday, April 4, 2023
Due to a prior-scheduling conflict, a member of the City Council is unable to attend the annual City Council Installation/Re-Organization meeting for this date.
Unfortunately, staff can only propose one alternate date: Monday, March 27, 2023. This date is provided due to the scheduling conflict for the Councilmember, the Jewish holidays and other conferences during the month.
Background: Installation/Re-Organization
Previously at both the Tuesday, November 16, 2021 and Tuesday, August 18, 2020 Study Sessions, the City Council formally directed that the installation/reorganization ceremony be held on the first Tuesday in April of each year regardless of election dates. This would allow for continuity with the Mayor and Vice Mayor rotation process.
Meeting Date: December 6, 2022
- Yom HaShoah: Holocaust Remembrance Day concludes at sunset on Tuesday, April 18, 2023. If the Council would like to move this regular meeting date, then Tuesday, April 25, 2023 is provided as an alternate option.
