RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council move to accept the described work with AJ Kirkwood, Inc., and authorize the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of Completion.

INTRODUCTION
Under the Fiscal Year 2020/21 CIP budget, the Public Works Department identified a project to replace current emergency generator with a larger capacity emergency generator to ensure that vehicles and equipment in the City fleet are safe and reliable and that the critical equipment at the Public Works building, including the newly expanded Water Treatment Plant, are supported with a greater emergency power capacity.

Construction activity for the replacement of the emergency generator began in October of 2021.

DISCUSSION
The installation of the new emergency generator has been completed. The improvements included replacement of the existing 600 Amps emergency generator with a 1250 Amps generator, doubling the emergency power capacity. The new generator will be supporting the critical equipment at the Public Works building, including the newly expanded Water Treatment Plant as well as the vehicles and equipment in the City fleet. The new generator uses renewable diesel fuel, an environmentally responsible choice compared to petroleum
