I am writing in regards to the proposed project at 125-129 S. Linden Drive. I am a resident and live on the block of South Linden. I am opposed to the proposed project at 125-129 S. Linden Drive development for the following reasons:
Height and Density Restriction
Over Development on a residential street
The safety and traffic element
Parking relationship to this development
Shadowing and blockage concern of building height
The height of 19 stories is higher than any building in Beverly Hills and in a residential area.
There are schools located a few buildings next to the 125-126 S. Linden Drive proposed development. One is located on the corner of Charleville Blvd. and Linden.
Drive. The safety of staff and children are of high concern. Also noted traffic at the drop off and pick up times of the children daily in this area. The Beverly High School is located in the path of this area. The students walk, bike and drive to school so the addition of traffic is safety concern too.
There are five hotels in the area so we are heavily populated with hotels.
The housing development has been certified and there are designated areas established in Beverly Hills
There was a restaurant located on the corner of Wilshire and Spaulding and it closed showing there is not a need for restaurant in this area.
There are several empty business establishments in the area so the concentration needs is to occupy these empty buildings.
The area is very congested due to the several department stores in the area. The safety of the residence and high traffic use is a concern. Often police are activated in the area since a crime is committed in the department stores and a police search is activated.
Thank you for your assistance,
Karen Popovich Levyn
Resident of the Block of South Linden Drive
