RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends that City Council accept the described work by PaveWest, Inc. in the final amount of $1,241,855.42 and authorize the City Clerk to record the attached Notice of Completion.
INTRODUCTION
This report provides information to City Council for the acceptance of the contract work in the final amount of $1,241,855.42 and authorization for the recordation of the Notice of Completion by the City Clerk with the Los Angeles County Recorder.
DISCUSSION
On February 6, 2024, a contract in the amount of $1,241,317.00 was awarded to PaveWest, Inc. on the basis of competitive bids received after public advertising.
Additionally, a contingency of 10% in the amount of $124,131.70 was approved for a total purchase order amount of $1,365,488.70. The project scope included the reconstruction of the aged concrete roadway and curb and gutter on Copley Place and portions of Copley Drive.
Public Works Engineering Division staff inspected the work and is satisfied that the project was completed according to the contract plans and specifications.

FISCAL IMPACT
The original construction contract purchase order (which included the contract amount of $1,241,317.00 plus a $124,131.70 contingency amount) was $1,365,448.70. The final contract amount is $1,241,855.42, leaving a purchase order balance of $123,593.28, which will be returned to the RMRA/SB-1 fund balance.
The current amount paid on the contract is $1,179,762.65 with a retention balance of $62,092.77 due to be paid 35 days after the recordation of the Notice of Completion.
