INTRODUCTION
The U.S. Department of Justice sets forth an annual grant program designed to assist police departments in the procurement of state-of-the-art bulletproof vests, to be worn by police officers. The program was authorized in 1999 as a means of providing critical resources for state and local government and their employees. The City of Beverly Hills was approved for the Fiscal Year 2024 grant to purchase up to 54 bulletproof vests for a total of $23,353.77 through the end of August 31, 2026.

DISCUSSION

The department anticipates the need to replace and purchase 54 vests for police officers between April 1, 2024 and August 31, 2026. The approximate cost of Meeting Date: December 10, 2024
