INTRODUCTION
The Architectural and Design Review (ADC) Commission Interview Panel composed of Vice Mayor Sharona R. Nazarian, PsyD, Councilmember Craig Corman, ADC Chair Evan Meyer and Vice-Chair Rebecca Pynoos met on Monday, November 25, 2024, to interview six applicants for the Licensed Landscape Architect position on the commission.
DISCUSSION
After discussion and careful review, it is the consensus of the Panel to recommend Mr. Jeffrey Daniels for appointment to fill the position of outgoing Commissioner James Matson, AIA, whose term will conclude on December 31, 2024. Per the City’s requirement for all new commission applicants a background check was successfully completed for Mr. Daniels.
RECOMMENDATION
The Architectural and Design Review Commission Interview Panel recommend that the City Council appoint Mr. Jeffrey Daniels, FAIA to the Architectural and Design Review Commission.
With the concurrence of the Council, a formal report will be prepared for adoption at the December 10, 2024, City Council Regular Meeting.
The Panel thanked all who applied for the commission opening. They also shared that each applicant provided thoughtful and compelling answers to the interview questions. The City is fortunate to have such an exceptional applicant pool and the applicants are encouraged to attend as many future Architectural and Design Review Commission meetings as possible and reapply for future vacancies.
