RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council appoint Ms. Negar Kamara to the Traffic and Parking Commission to fill the unscheduled vacancy by former commissioner Ron Shalowitz. If approved, Ms. Kamara’s initial two-year term will begin on May 1, 2025 and end on June 30, 2027. Her initial term is two months longer than the normal two-year term so that the commission may return to its normal recruitment cycle.
She will be eligible for reappointment to a second term of four years per Beverly Hills Municipal Code Section 2-2-105.
INTRODUCTION
This report transmits a formal request to appoint Ms. Negar Kamara to the Traffic and Parking Commission for the term provided.
DISCUSSION
Staff presented the Traffic and Parking Commission Interview Panel report to the City Council at the Study Session of April 22, 2025. This action will approve the appointment presented to the City Council at this meeting.
