Permanent October 7 Memorial Committee Application
1. Please describe any technical expertise (e.g., design, architecture, curation, engineering, construction, etc.) or other background information that might be useful as a Committee member (e.g., education, business or personal), as well as any similar projects in which you have worked on in the past.
I bring a strong background in creative direction, strategic design, and large-scale project execution that would be invaluable to the committee. In particular I recently led “Flags for Israel,” a commemorative installation featuring 1,400 flags honoring victims of October 7th from over 30 nationalities. This project demanded a holistic blend of conceptual design, stakeholder collaboration, and on-the-ground coordination—skills directly applicable to developing a memorial.
Over the years, I have spearheaded multiple high-impact initiatives, serving as both Creative Director and Strategist for organizations in diverse sectors. My expertise involves transforming complex ideas into tangible, meaningful experiences that resonate with diverse audiences.
Through these efforts, I have learned how to balance creative innovation with the sensitivities surrounding significant historical events, and I understand the necessity of community engagement, logistical planning, and strategic collaboration.
I would be honored to contribute my expertise to the committee, ensuring that the memorial pays tribute to the victims and also stands as a powerful, enduring testament to the values of the city.
2. Please list community activities you are presently involved in and activities in which you have participated in the past (including years of service). • Volunteer for Israeli Hasbara (Ongoing): Participated in various advocacy events and causes, lending creative and strategic expertise to support Israel’s public diplomacy efforts.
• “Flags for Israel” Commemorative Installation: Conceptualized and led a large-scale community project in collaboration with the Israeli Consulate, Beverly Hills Municipality, and local leaders.
• Creative Support for Nonprofit Organizations: Provided branding, messaging, and strategic development for various nonprofits and social causes, helping them amplify theirimpact through compelling stoi’ytelling and community-driven campaigns.
3. Why do you wish to be a member of the October 7 Memorial Committee? (Specifically, Technical/Professional Advisor for the Beverly Hills
Permanent October 7 Memorial Committee Application
why have you chosen this form of community service over the many other avenues of community service available in our community?)
As a father offour young children, I feel personally obligated to help create a safe, inclusive environment and a strong sense of belonging for future generations.
Having led the “Flags for Israel” initiative, I’ve seen how a thoughtful memorialcan unite communities, promote healing, and educate the public. Serving on the October 7 Memorial Committee uniquely aligns with my dedication to Israel, America, and the Jewish community. By contributing my creative and strategic expertise, I hope to ensure that the events of October 7th are properly honored and used as a source of unity, understanding, and lasting impact.
4. How do you envision Committee members being most effective in their efforts? Committee members can be most effective by working collaboratively, leveraging diverse skill sets, and fostering open communication to align on a clear vision. By combining expertise in design, storytelling, historical context, and community engagement, they can ensure that every aspect of the memorial—from conceptualization to execution—resonatesdeeply, honors those affected, and provides a lasting place ofreflection and education for alL
5. What other commitments might cause conflicts in your scheduling for Committee meetings?
I have no conflicting commitments and can fully dedicate myself to the Committee’s schedule.
