RECOMMENDATION
Staff recommends the City Council approve a purchase order in the amount of $204,444 to cover outstanding invoices owed to Vital Medical Services for medical clearance and related custodial medical services previously provided to the Beverly Hills Police Department.
INTRODUCTION
The Beverly Hills Police Department previously contracted with Vital Medical Services to provide medical clearance evaluations and medical services for individuals in custody at our jail facility. These medical evaluations are necessary to ensure that individuals taken into custody are medically fit to remain in our jail and in compliance with custodial care standards.
The contract with Vital Medical Services expired last year, and several invoices were submitted after the fiscal year closed. As a result, the Police Department currently requires the council’s approval of a purchase order to pay the outstanding balances for services previously rendered.
DISCUSSION
