INTRODUCTION
This item provides the City Council with the certification of election results from the June 2, 2026, Regular Municipal Election as provided by the office of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.
DISCUSSION
The City of Beverly Hills held its Regular Municipal Election on June 2, 2026. Eleven (11) candidates competed for three (3) City Council seats. One candidate ran unopposed for the office of City Treasurer. The candidates are listed below in order of the number of final election results received as of June 29, 2026.
This report formally requests the City Council approve the results of the June 2, 2026, Regular Municipal Election as provided by the office of the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk. The Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk’s office has provided the California Secretary of State (see attached) with final election results for the City of Beverly Hills. Also included within the report is a Resolution pending City Council approval.
Meeting Date: July 7, 2026
There were 22,731 eligible voters in the City of Beverly Hills for this election. A total of 11,184 ballots were cast in the June 2026 Regular Municipal Election, compared with 9,041 ballots cast in the June 2022 election for the same number of seats.
Voters cast 2,082 ballots at in-person vote centers (precincts) and 9,102 ballots through Vote by Mail (see attached) for the June 2, 2026, Regular Municipal Election.
Per the election results included in this report, it is requested that the following individuals be sworn into office for a four (4) year term, ending with the next election cycle for these seats in June 2030: Sharona R. Nazarian, Lester Friedman, and Rebecca Pynoos as Councilmembers, and Howard S. Fisher as City Treasurer.
FISCAL IMPACT
A final report on costs associated with the June 2, 2026, Regular Municipal Election are pending receipt and will be provided as the information becomes available.

RESOLUTION NO. 26-R-________
RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY
HILLS RECITING THE FACT OF THE CONSOLIDATED
REGULAR MUNICIPAL ELECTION HELD IN THE CITY OF
BEVERLY HILLS ON JUNE 2, 2026, DECLARING THE RESULTS
AND SUCH OTHER MATTERS AS PROVIDED BY LAW.
WHEREAS, a Consolidated Regular Municipal Election was held and conducted in the City of Beverly Hills, California, on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, as required by law; and WHEREAS, notice of the election was given in time, form and manner as provided by law; that candidates were nominated to fill the vacancy or vacancies as provided by law; that vote centers were established; that election officers were appointed and that in all respects the election was held and conducted and the votes were cast, received and canvassed and the returns made and declared in time, form and manner as required by the provisions of the laws of the State of California for the holding of elections in general law cities; and WHEREAS, the Los Angeles Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk canvassed the returns of the election and has certified the results to the City Council, the results are received, attached and made a part hereof as Exhibit A.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS, CALIFORNIA, DOES RESOLVE, DECLARE, DETERMINE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS:
Section 1. There were 22,731 eligible voters in the City of Beverly Hills. A total of 11,184 ballots were cast in the June 2, 2026 Regular Municipal Election.
Voters cast 2,082 ballots at in-person vote centers (precincts) and 9,102 ballots through Vote by Mail for the June 2, 2026 Regular Municipal Election.
Section 2. The names of the persons voted for at the election for Member of the City Council are as follows (in order of votes received):

Section 3. The City Treasurer seat was uncontested with only one candidate:

Section 4. The number of votes cast at vote centers and the number of votes given in the City to each of the persons above named for the respective offices for which the persons were candidates were as listed in Exhibit A attached.
Section 5. The City Council does declare and determine that: Sharona R. Nazarian, was elected as Member of the City Council for the full term of four years, that Lester Friedman was elected as a member of the City Council for the full term of four years, that Rebecca Pynoos was elected as a member of the City Council for the full term of four years and that Howard S. Fisher was elected as City Treasurer for the full term of four years.
Section 6. The City Clerk shall enter into the records of the City this resolution with a statement of the results of the election, showing: (1) the whole number of ballots cast in the City; (2) the names of the persons voted for; (3) for what office each person was voted; (4) the number of votes given at each vote center to each person; and (5) the total number of votes given to each person as listed in Exhibit A, attached.
Section 7. The City Clerk shall apprise the persons elected of their election to the offices of City Council and City Treasurer; the City Clerk or a duly authorized person shall administer to each person elected the Oath of Office prescribed in the Constitution of the State of California and shall have them subscribe to it and file it in the Office of the City Clerk. Each and all of the persons so elected shall then be inducted into the respective office to which they have been elected.
Section 8. The City Clerk of this City shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution and enter it into the Book of Resolutions of this City, which entry shall constitute the City Clerk’s statement of the results of the election.
