RECOMMENDATION
It is recommended that the City Council appoint Mr. Jason Grant to the Planning Commission to fill a scheduled vacancy on the commission.
If approved, Mr. Grant will be appointed for an initial two-year term based on the terms provided.
He will also be eligible for reappointment to a second term of four years per Beverly Hills Municipal Code Section 2-2-105. His term will be two months shorter, as it is a mid-year appointment. He will follow the July rotation schedule.
INTRODUCTION
This report transmits a formal request to appoint the following to the Planning Commission for the term provided:
JASON GRANT (Term July 1, 2026 – June 30, 2028
Former Commissioner Myra Demeter (Term ended: June 30, 2026) Mid-term appointment, candidate will be seated immediately.

DISCUSSION
Staff presented the Planning Commission Interview Panel report to the City Council at the Study Session of September 1, 2026. With City Council approval, the candidate will begin serving immediately starting September 2, 2026; however, his initial term will be shortened by two months due to the midyear appointment for this commission.
This action will approve the appointment presented to the City Council at this meeting.
