• The Fine Art Fund balance reflects updated activity at the close of the fiscal year, including:
o Developer deposits: approximately $424,000 currently held for onsite installations

Commissioners thanked staff for keeping close watch on the Fine Art Fund and noted the Commission’s ongoing interest in identifying appropriate opportunities to use the fund once the work plan is approved by City Council. Some commissioners asked for clarification on what Fine Art Fund dollars may be used for, including purchases, advertising, marketing, or costs related to selling pieces in the City’s collection. Commissioners also referenced the recent appraisal of City-owned artworks and expressed interest in reviewing that information when available. Additional comments focused on understanding the process and authority required to consider the possible sale of City-owned art, the role of City Council in that decision, and the importance of knowing the value, condition, and maintenance needs of the collection as part of future discussions.
