RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BEVERLY HILLS:

3. AUTHORIZING THE BUILDING OFFICIAL TO DETERMINE APPROPRIATE BUILDING PLAN CHECK AND PERMIT FEES FOR DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS WITH A VALUATION GREATER THAN $1 BILLION.

Comment: Building plan check and permit fees are calculated based on the valuation of the development project. For exceptionally large and complex projects with valuations greater than $1 billion, the established fee formulas may cause fees to continue increasing at a rate that exceeds the corresponding increase in City resources needed to review the plans, issue the permits, and inspect the construction. The proposed resolution would authorize the Building Official to determine appropriate plan check and permit fees for these large and complex projects based on the actual cost of the City services required to review and inspect the project.
