STAFF REPORT
Meeting Date: October 20, 2026
To: Honorable Mayor & City Council
From: Huma Ahmed, City Clerk, CMC
Subject: November 3, 2026 General Election Update
Attachments: 1. November 2026 Election Postcard

INTRODUCTION
This informational report provides the City Council with a brief update regarding the upcoming November 3, 2026 General Election. The Los Angeles County RegisterRecorder/County Clerk’s (RR/CC) office will conduct this election. This is a general election with no municipal items on the ballot.

DISCUSSION
As is in previous elections, the City of Beverly Hills will provide vote centers and drop boxes which are accessible to all voters.

Vote Centers
Onsite voting for the November 3, 2026 General Election will begin on Saturday, October 24, and continue through Election Day, Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

The City of Beverly Hills will host the following vote centers:
• 11-Day Vote Center: Beverly Hills Library Auditorium (adjacent to City Hall), open Saturday, October 24 through Tuesday, November 3, 2026. • 4-Day Vote Center: Roxbury Park Clubhouse, open Saturday, October 31 through Tuesday, November 3, 2026.
• 4-Day Vote Center: La Cienega Tennis Center, Rodeo Room, open Saturday, October 31 through Tuesday, November 3, 2026.

Vote Center Hours are 10:00AM-7:00PM daily, on Election Day 7:00AM-8:00PM.

Additionally, All Saints’ Episcopal Church will serve as a four-day vote center. Voters may park at 461 N. Bedford Drive, Monday through Saturday. On Sundays, free parking will be available at the Santa Monica Boulevard parking structures adjacent to the church. The City is coordinating these parking arrangements to ensure voters have access to convenient parking when visiting this vote center.

Drop Boxes
Voters may choose to drop off their ballots at any drop box located within Los Angeles County. The City of Beverly Hills has an agreement with LA County (RR/CC) for the following vote-by-mail drop boxes:
- City Hall on Rexford (across from the Fire Station, next to Kelly’s Coffee) - Roxbury Park Community Center (at the entrance)
Ballot drop-off parking will be made available with marked meters close to the drop boxes listed above. Los Angeles County RR/CC staff will pick up ballots daily for all drop boxes throughout the election cycle. Drop boxes are open 24-hours during the election, but will close at 8PM sharp on Tuesday, November 3, 2026 (Election Day).

It should be noted that the City Clerk’s Office was recently informed that Metro and the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk (RR/CC) have entered into an agreement to provide a temporary vote-by-mail drop box at the La Cienega Metro Station (Plaza Level).

City staff was subsequently advised that the Metro Line D station at La Cienega will be closed from Friday, October 23 through Monday, November 2, 2026, to accommodate infrastructure repairs. As advised by Metro staff, the vote-by-mail drop box located at the station is in the plaza area which is expected to remain accessible to the public during that time.

The City of Beverly Hills is not involved in the placement or administration of this temporary drop box. Accordingly, any questions or concerns regarding the drop box at the Metro station should be directed to Metro or the RR/CC.

USPS
The United States Postal Service (USPS) is still an option to forward ballots. Voters are advised not to wait until the last minute to mail their ballots.

Track Your Ballot
All voters can sign up through the Secretary of State’s site that allows voters to track their ballots. Voters can receive updates on when their ballots are received and counted:
california.ballottrax.net.

Outreach
The City Clerk’s Office mailed an informational postcard to Beverly Hills residents.

Additionally, information about the election vote centers and drop boxes continue to be promoted through the City’s social media channels and BHTV Channel 10.

FISCAL IMPACT
Expenditures for this election will be a part of the City Clerk’s Elections Budget. Elections Code § 12283 requires local government agencies to provide, at no cost, space for use as a vote center, and further requires that such facilities comply with applicable accessibility standards. While the Los Angeles RR/CC offsets certain expenses, including some facilities support and limited overtime staffing, the City of Beverly Hills remains responsible for most costs. Free City parking will also be provided to all voters at City vote center facilities and All Saints’ Episcopal voter sites.
