A Special Meeting of the City Council of the City of Big Bear Lake was called to order by Mayor Putz at 2:31 p.m., Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at the Civic Center, 39707 Big Bear Boulevard, Big Bear Lake, California.

DISCUSSION/ACTION ITEM
1. REVIEW OF CITY’S EMERGENCY OPERATION PLAN
City Council reviewed and discussed the City’s Emergency Operations Plan and provided feedback and direction to staff for future emergencies.
Following initial questions from Council, Mayor Putz invited up speakers who wanted to speak on this item. The following individuals approached Council:
Maureen Auer, Big Bear Lake resident, asked for clarification on the role of the proposed Emergency Operations Manager.
Ellen Clarke, Executive Director of the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, indicated that the Chamber of Commerce would like to partner with the City in an effort to further disseminate information to our local businesses in the event of an emergency.
Council continued the discussion and although no formal action was taken, City Manager Erik Sund indicated that Council’s comments will be reviewed and consolidated for the future consulting company that will draft the City’s new Emergency Operation Plan, which will be ultimately ratified and adopted by the Council at a future meeting.
