Special Meeting Minutes - March 10, 2026
A Special Joint Meeting of the City Council and Planning Commission for the City of Big Bear Lake was called to order by Mayor Putz at 1:31 p.m., Tuesday, March 10, 2026, at the Civic Center, 39707 Big Bear Boulevard, Big Bear Lake, California.

1. DISCUSSION / ACTION ITEM
1.1 OVERVIEW OF THE GENERAL PLAN UPDATE PROCESS
A presentation was given by City staff and Mintier Harnish representatives providing information about the upcoming process related to the General Plan and Development Code updates, and the community outreach and engagement strategies that will be utilized throughout the three-year process.
Following the City Council and Planning Commission's initial questions and comments, Mayor Putz invited up speakers who wanted to speak on this item, and the following individual provided a public comment:
Daniel Gulbranson, Big Bear Lake resident, stated he doesn't agree with the City updating the General Plan; provided his thoughts on the noticing of public meetings; and expressed his frustration with various State programs and mandates.
Following public comment, the City Council and Planning Commission engaged in continued discussion regarding the General Plan update. No formal action was taken on this item.
