MINUTES OF THE CITY OF BIGGS
SPECIAL MEETING February 1, 2022
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
1. SPECIAL MEETING CALLED TO ORDER:
The special council meeting was called to order at 5:02 p.m. by Mayor Sheppard.
Councilmembers Bassett, Nuchols and Squires were present. Staff present: City Administrator Mark Sorensen, City Attorney Greg Einhorn and City Clerk Roben Benish.

Present: Bassett, Nuchols, Squires and Sheppard.
Absent: None.
4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None.
5. SPECIAL SESSION:
A. Council considered appointment to fill the vacant Councilmember position created by the passing of Vice Mayor and Councilmember John Busch with the term to expire December 2022.
1. Council interviewed applicant Michael Buck.
2. Motion/Second to appoint Michael Buck and to adopt Resolution No. 2022-01, “RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BIGGS APPOINTING RESIDENT TO VACANT COUNCIL POSITION.” (Squires/Nuchols, MCU) B. Selection of Vice Mayor.
Mayor Sheppard opened the nominations for Vice Mayor and nominated Councilmember Bassett for this position. No other members were nominated. Mayor Sheppard closed the nominations.
Those in favor of Councilmember Bassett for Vice Mayor: Bassett, Buck, Nuchols, Squires, and Sheppard.

7. ADJOURNMENT: Council adjourned the special meeting at 5:12 p.m.
