MINUTES OF THE CITY OF BIGGS
SPECIAL MEETING October 31, 2022
COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
1. SPECIAL MEETING CALLED TO ORDER:
The special council meeting was called to order at 9:00 a.m. by Mayor Sheppard. Vice Mayor Bassett and Squires were present. Staff present: Interim City Administrator Dennis Schmidt and City Clerk Roben Benish.
2. ROLL CALL:
Present: Squires, Bassett, and Sheppard
Absent: Buck and Nuchols
3. PUBLIC COMMENT: None
4. SPECIAL BUSINESS:
CalFire Assistant Chief Sean Norman updated Council, Butte County Air Quality Team, Supervisor Todd Kimmelshue, and the property owner Andy Collins regarding the ongoing rice straw fire burning at Biggs Farming Group, located at 2991 West Biggs Gridley Road, Biggs, CA. The property owner has scraped the weeds and wet the fence down along the property. The incident has been turned over to the property owner. There is a low threat to the community.
5. ADJOURNMENT: Council adjourned the special meeting at 9:32 a.m.
