MINUTES OF THE CITY OF BIGGS
REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING April 9, 2024

COUNTY OF BUTTE, STATE OF CALIFORNIA

Page 1 ends

The regular council meeting was called to order at 5:00 p.m. by Mayor Bassett. Staff present: City Administrator Josh Cook, City Planner Bob Summerville, City Engineer Dave Harden, and City Clerk Roben Benish.

1. MEETING CALLED TO ORDER: Mayor Bassett

2. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE:

3. ROLL CALL:

Present: Bassett, Buck, Squires, and Nuchols

Absent: Sheppard

4. PUBLIC COMMENT: None

5. PUBLIC HEARING: Tentative Parcel Map 2023-01 (Chavez) A. City Planner, Bob Summerville stated the applicant was requesting approval of a tentative parcel map to divide a vacant 0.30-acre parcel to create two parcels for development of single-family residential uses. The project creates a net density of 6.7 units/acre and a gross density of 3.5 units/acre, located at the northeast corner of Second Street and W. Rio Bonito Road.

One public comment submitted by a neighbor of the project was received noting that the public notice incorrectly identified the site location as the “northwest” corner of Second Street/W. Rio Bonito Road, rather than correctly identifying the location as the “northeast” corner of the intersection. Planning staff recommends that the project does not require a new notice or rescheduling of the public hearing since the error was non-substantive and no other errors are contained in the notice.

B. Mayor Bassett opened the hearing to the public.

1. Proponents: Property owner, Robert Chavez and Adam Nako from Sannar Surveying spoke in favor of the request.

2. Opponents: None
C. Mayor Bassett closed the hearing to the public.
