SPECIAL BUSINESS: Consideration of Appointment of Candidates to the Office of City Council that were to be Voted on at the November 3, 2026, Election Discussion/Action: At the close of the nomination period on August 7, 2026, there were not more candidates than offices to be elected and Section 10229 allows the City Council to appoint the person nominated or hold the election as scheduled. The persons nominated were Zach Brown – Four-Year Term, James Theo “Bo” Sheppard – Four-Year Term, Jerome Squires – Four-Year Term, and Amanda Mattos – Two-Year Term.
Recommendation: Motion/Second to adopt Resolution No. 2026-30, “A RESOLUTION OF
THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BIGGS, CALIFORNIA, PROVIDING FOR THE
APPOINTMENT TO THE OFFICE OF THIS CITY THAT WAS TO BE ELECTED ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 3, 2026, AND CANCELLING THE ELECTION.” City of Biggs City Council Meeting Agenda
