Public comments were made by:
Lynette McIntosh, a local resident, spoke in favor of the Bishop Mural Society but not in favor of a recent mural on the C5 building by the Bishop Artists; asked who permitted and approved this particular mural.
Jennifer Beaudean spoke in disfavor of the mural on the C5 building; presented a signed petition to have the mural removed. Spoke in disfavor of the removal of the trash cans and restrooms across from the Inyo County building in Bishop. Spoke to her observation that Mule Days was not highlighted this year throughout the city as in past years.
Pastor Tim Homan of Bishop Grace Lutheran Church thanked Life Flight and Fire Department for their recent rescue efforts at the Fairgrounds; thanked Council for their service; thanked Lynette Mclntosh for her comments regarding the mural on C5; and May 28, 2024 Page 1
recited a prayer.
Tyler Beadle, a Bishop resident, spoke to his displeasure that the City is adding more bike lanes, changing murals, and removing citizen parking throughout our town instead of addressing the City's many vacant buildings on Main Street, no where to shop for decent clothes, housing is nearly impossible to obtain, murals and strange art are being replaced and added without any community input, and that you can't walk through the park without being antagonized by a homeless person.
Wayne Croasdale spoke to the mural on the C5 building that is highly offensive for the public eye; murals should go through an approval process.
Patricia "Patty" Hollon, of Holy Smoke BBQ, spoke in disfavor of the mural on the C5 building; asked who approved the mural; requested that this piece of art be taken down and that the artist needs to be informed and given another opportunity to create their message. Patricia Hollon expressed that their voices are not being heard and that is unacceptable.
No further public comments were made.
