SPECIAL MEETING
JUNE 12, 2024
1. CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Garcia called the special joint meeting of the Bishop City Council and the Bishop Paiute Tribal Council to order at 12:04 p.m. in the Owens Valley Paiute Shoshone Cultural Center, 2300 West Line Street, Bishop, California.

City Administrator Deston Dishion, City Clerk Robin Picken, Fire Chief Bret Russell, Police Chief Nate Derr, Public Works Director Nora Gamino, and Administrative Assistant to the Tribal Council Charlene Keller
3. PUBLIC COMMENT - NOTICE TO THE PUBLIC: This time is set aside to receive public comment on matters agendized for closed session only. When recognized by the Mayor, please state your name, and address for the record and please limit your comments to three minutes. Under California law the City Council is prohibited from generally discussing or taking action on items not included in the agenda; however, the City Council may briefly respond to comments or questions from members of the public.
Therefore, the City Council will listen to all public comment but will not generally discuss the matter or take action on it.
No public comments were made.
4. NEW BUSINESS
A. DISCUSS EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS)
City Administrator Dishion started the discussion on emergency medical services and opened up further discussion between the City Council and the Tribal Council.

After a lengthy discussion on past, current, and future emergency medical services in their respective jurisdictions and in Inyo County, no action was taken.
Mayor Garcia thanked everyone for attending this meeting and requested that their next special joint meeting be held at Bishop City Hall.
6. ADJOURNMENT
The Mayor adjourned the meeting at 12:50 p.m.
