Tuesday, May 19, 2025 5:30 p.m. ~ Special Council Meeting Skinner Store Building ~ 111 Greenwood Rd., Blue Lake ~ Behind City Hall CALL TO ORDER: Mayor John Sawatzky called the meeting to order at 5:35 p.m.

Public Comment:
Comment by (Linda Cooley): expresses concern regarding unclear, negative or evasive reporting on safety issues, and the need for press releases Comment by (?): thanked the council for their remarks, and said the citizens of Blue Lake can’t know what is being withheld and feels this violates the Brown Act.
City Attorney Russ Gains clarified the closed session was regarding the exposure to litigation, and discussion in open session could exacerbate negotiations.
Comment by (Julie Christie): mentioned the County has Brown Act training recently and can supply a link. Julie also commented the community should be part of the discussion as it is the community the council represents.
Comment by (Brian): thanks the council for showing up through all the changes.
