6. Overview of the Police Department's Integrated Crime Center Police Chief Hawley introduced his command staff and the proposed vendor - Motorola. He also presented a PowerPoint that included information such as: the project's vision, reach, systems & components, staffing needs, additional considerations, implementation plan, Avigilon control center software, security solution intelligence, video demonstrations, photos, fiscal impact, and feedback.

Police Lieutenant Harvey discussed the proposed Integrated Crime Center's software system and noted that the system includes information beyond reading license plates. He talked about how the system works, the usability, and how information is stored.

Ralph Brickley, Motorola, noted that technology for the proposed integrated crime center can be added to the City's existing cameras. He also noted that new cameras will already be technology equipped.

In response to Council Member Marick's question regarding notifying the public of the cameras, Police Chief Hawley explained that the cameras are to be used in public spaces only and will only be used in accordance with the law. He stated that the proposed system is only for use in the City of Brea and noted that there are other cities and entities that have similar systems.
