Date: Tuesday, September 12, 2023 2:01:16 PM
Attachments: Brentwood Golf Course - REV PHOTOMTRIC.pdf Dear Honorable Mayor, Vice Mayor and Council Members,
Good afternoon. The applicant for Agenda Item H.1 (Brentwood Golf Club Design Review Amendment) provided staff with a revised photometric plan based on the Planning Commission modified condition of approval to reduce the height of the light poles around the storage and maintenance yard to 18 feet. The photometric plan that was included in the packet depicts the 25 foot high light poles originally proposed by the project. The attached revised plan shows that there is negligible/no spillover of lighting near the cart path with 18 foot high light poles.

Thank you.

SUBJECT: Informational Report: Senior Programming Update This memo serves to provide information requested from Council Member Jovita Mendoza in regards to Senior Programming.

The City of Brentwood partners, through Memorandums of Understanding (MOU) and partnerships, with many other agencies to provide a range of senior programs and services to the community in our facilities, mainly at the Brentwood Senior Activity Center (BSAC).

Information about senior programs and services are available online on the City’s website here, in the Department’s quarterly Activities Guide here, and advertised at the Senior Center (seniors are still largely interested in receiving paper information).

Agencies and organizations that partner with the City also assist in advertising and marketing, further expanding the reach of the services offered to the community.

Senior populations are diverse and because of this, there are a range of programs offered from fitness classes, bocce leagues, trips, tours, special events, and more. For those who have financial restraints, the City and its partners provide a range of affordable programs mentioned below and various presentations and trainings throughout the year. The City also collaborates with other agencies to provide services at no cost such as Brown Bag, Health Insurance Counseling, Senior Legal Services and more.

The City collaborates with the Brentwood Senior Citizen’s Club (BSCC) for a multitude of drop in activities for the cost of their $25.00 per year membership (see BSCC Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices – 150 City Park Way, Brentwood, CA 94513 Phone: (925) 516-5444 Fax: (925) 516-5445
newsletter here for more information). The Brentwood Senior Citizen’s Club also offers financial assistance through their scholarship program providing access to both City and Club activities that have a cost. Overall, if a senior comes to the Senior Center with an issue, or desire to participate in an activity, staff have resources to look into to provide the requested assistance.

Due to a range of factors (i.e COVID pandemic) in the last few years, City Staff was unable to provide a year by year breakdown of participation of programs for comparison. Another factor that has impacted the operations has been vacancies and turnover on-staff (however, these operational changes did not impact the number and type of services delivered to the community).
