CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear Brentwood City Council,
Please adopt the Brentwood planning commission’s resolution for a new land use ordinance.

1. Oil and gas development activities can have significant and prolonged environmental and health effects, including substantial increases in localized air pollution and emissions, which can in turn result in significant long-term climate change effects.

2. Other risks associated with such activities include adverse effects on reproductive health and birth weights, and the potential for workplace related incidents such as vehicle collisions and explosions/fires.

3. Restricting the locations of oil and gas development activities within the City of Brentwood protects the community’s ability to enjoy clean air and water, and to live and work in a healthy and thriving place.

The city council has spent almost 2 years without making a decision on this issue. You must protect the health and safety of Brentwood residents now.

Sincerely,
Alvaro Ramos

CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear City Council members,
As a fellow resident of the East Bay and Planet Earth, I want to express my appreciation for your ongoing efforts to protect us from the many levels of harm caused by oil and gas drilling.

I look forward to your passing the updated ban on drilling, which the city has every right to do under the recent state Supreme Court ruling on Monterey.

Your leadership will help the county, state, and world move forward on phasing out the damage that fossil fuels are doing to our health and our future.

Sincerely,
Jean Tepperman

CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear Brentwood City Council,
Given what Brentwood went through last fall, along with many other cities, its absolutely ridiculous this item is returning at the request of Vice Mayor Susanna Meyer. While I have my suspicions as to why she wants the comments to open up again (mainly to have support on items), there is no benefit to the community given national and international rhetoric is getting worse. Why this council may want to subject the city to it is beyond me. I would urge this council, and members of the community to watch the October meeting again, listen to what Mayor Joel Bryant and PA’Tanisha Pierson said.

As Pierson said at the October meeting, if you have a public comment, have your asses in the seats. I would urge the council to revisit this after the 2024 general election. The city is not obligated to provide comments online, just provide a space to do it. If people want to comment, they can make the effort to show up to a meeting.
