CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
I wish to make a statement about the proposed annual Juneteenth event which was ok’d by City Council last month. Originally this event was to have cost $15,000 according to the Brentwood Press newspaper. Overnight this estimate was increased to $35,000 and today ( according to CCC Facebook post) it is $45,000. To fund this event the June 21 st citywide event has been cancelled. This is unacceptable. The cost of Juneteenth is outrageous and is more costly than any other event the city puts on except for the New Deal proposal ( as printed in the Brentwood Press).

To cancel a citywide event ( June 21st) to pay for Juneteenth which is a new event proposed by one city council member, is very unfair to Brentwood residents who would be far better served by a non political event to benefit ALL residents.

Thank you, Bernadette Buchanan ( resident of Brentwood) Sent from my iPhone
