Subject: Bridle Gate Project
Hello;
This email is in response to the Notice of Public Hearing for WCHB Development, Bridle Gate project hearing on December 10, 2024.
As a resident of Shadow Lake area for the past 14 years, I can tell you that the traffic through our residential area has gotten progressively worst. The traffic increase has been mostly due to parents taking their children to schools located either on Balfor or San Jose St. The car traffic on San Jose in the morning and afternoon is as such that one is required to sit a in a traffic jam. In addition, because of the rush of cars to get to the schools, it is unsafe to cross the street on foot. Just imagine adding additional 272 units to this area.
As you drive to City of Brentwood you see nothing but homes and the only remaining open space is this particular hill side. Aren't enough home being build in the entire city of Brentwood?
This project is no favor to the current residence of city Brentwood, and in my view it is basically a developer wanting to make more money to state the obvious. They will not live hear in the future and move on to the next project to make more money while we have to deal with this additional car traffic. I hope at some point the city council members assert themselves for what is on the best interest of the people of this city who are actually paying the tax to keep the city Beautiful. Please deny this project.
Thank you,
Seyed Olia

Subject: Opposition to the Bridle Gate Project-Public Comment MTG Dec 10th, 2024 CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear Brentwood City Council,
I am writing to express my opposition to the proposed Bridle Gate development.
While I understand the need for housing, this project poses significant challenges that would negatively impact our community.
Traffic Congestion
Adding 269 homes will substantially increase traffic on Sand Creek Road and nearby intersections, particularly during peak hours. This area already experiences congestion, and without substantial road and infrastructure improvements, this project will make daily commutes to work Heritage High School and other schools unbearable for residents.
Strain on Public Services
Brentwood’s schools, emergency services, and utilities are already stretched thin.
An influx of new residents will create further strain, reducing the quality of services for existing families. The city needs to focus on expanding these resources before approving large-scale developments like this one.
Environmental Concerns
The Bridle Gate project will disrupt over 135 acres of land, including open spaces vital to Brentwood’s suburban and semi-rural character. The environmental impact on local wildlife, water resources, and air quality must not be overlooked. The California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) exists to ensure that such projects do not harm our environment, and I urge the Council to hold the project accountable to these standards.
Overdevelopment and Urban Sprawl
Brentwood has always been a family-oriented community with a balance between urban growth and open space. Projects like Bridle Gate threaten to overdevelop the area, pushing us closer to urban sprawl. This risks diminishing the unique charm that makes Brentwood an attractive place to live.
I respectfully ask the Council to carefully consider the long-term consequences of this project on our community and to prioritize sustainable, community-focused growth.
Thank you for your time and commitment to Brentwood’s future.
Sincerely,
Josh Young
