1 SPECIAL CITY COUNCIL MINUTES
March 31, 2025, 6:00 p.m.
A. CALL TO ORDER & ROLL CALL
Mayor Meyer called the State of the City special meeting to order at 6:09 p.m. with the following members present: Maloney, Pierson, Mendoza, Oerlemans, and Mayor Meyer.
B. PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Meyer led the Pledge of Allegiance.
C. PUBLIC COMMENTS
Mayor Meyer opened public comments.
There being no one wishing to speak, Mayor Meyer closed public comments.
D. RECESS TO CLOSED SESSION
E. BUSINESS ITEMS
Mayor Meyer recognized dignitaries, the City's Executive Team and staff in attendance.
Mayor Meyer started the 2025 State of the City video.
Mayor Meyer provided City statistics.
Mayor Meyer opened the floor for Q&A from the attendees.
Q) Roger Cocksedge inquired about the City's plan to protect the City's farms from unauthorized fruit vendors.
A) Mayor Meyer noted the City has a Street Vendors Ordinance.
Q) Melissa van Ruiten inquired about the purpose of the Agricultural Innovation Center and the Innovation Center at Brentwood.
A) Mayor Meyer noted the City has land that was purchased with Agriculture Funding and is dedicated for future Agriculture projects. The Innovation Center at Brentwood is land dedicated for Economic Development and job growth.
