CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear Members of the Brentwood City Council,
We are writing in strong support of Kristen Mingus and her continued work serving the Downtown Brentwood community.

Our names are Joey and Suzanne Nardone, and we are the owners and operators of Brentwood Craft, located on Oak Street in Downtown Brentwood. As small business owners who are deeply invested in the success of our city, we have seen firsthand the positive and lasting impact Kristen has on downtown businesses and the broader local economy.

Kristen is an invaluable asset to the success of Downtown Brentwood. Her leadership, dedication, and collaborative approach directly influence the vitality of our business district. The ripple effect of her work extends well beyond individual storefronts— supporting our staff, strengthening relationships with local vendors, and contributing meaningfully to the city’s economic health and government coffers.

Kristen works tirelessly to ensure that Downtown Brentwood businesses are aligned and working together toward a shared goal: bringing our community together for good times while enriching and sustaining local businesses. Her ability to unite stakeholders, foster cooperation, and keep momentum moving forward has made a measurable difference in the overall success and energy of our downtown.

We are incredibly grateful for Kristen’s continued commitment and leadership, and for the positive influence she has on our business and so many others. We also extend our sincere thanks to the Brentwood City Council for allowing us the opportunity to be heard, and for continuing to give Kristen the opportunity to serve as a true difference maker in our community.

Thank you for your time, consideration, and continued support of Downtown Brentwood.

Sincerely,
Joey Nardone

CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Hello,
My name is Kimberly Mello and I am the owner of Upskill Aesthetics Academy and Movel Medical Aesthetics in Downtow Brentwood. I started Upskill in September of 2024 and hadn’t felt like a member of the downtown Brentwood business collective until I met Kristen Mingus with the Downtown Brentwood Coalition. Since working with Kristen, I have attended two events as a vendor, and the exposure has been invaluable to me and my businesses.

Kristen has done an amazing job putting together events in the downtown region that brings our community together and exposes residence to all of the businesses and what they have to offer. Kristen‘s communication style and her excitement and determination to make all of the events successful is motivating to watch. As I said, I didn’t have any interactions with any of the other business owners until Kristen approached me about the Downtown Brentwood Coalition and invited me to be a part of events in and around the area. It would be a loss to our business community to not have someone like Kristen reach out and bring businesses together for the Brentwood. As a Brentwood resident myself it is wonderful to see these events planned and executed in such a professional manner, and it really gives a positive feel for the community. I do hope you consider continuing to have the position of executive director at the downtown Brentwood coalition and with that Kristen to continue to bring these events and gatherings for the community.

Best,
Kimberly Mello, M.S. PA-C

CAUTION – EXTERNAL SENDER
Dear Mayor Meyer and fellow council members, my name is Matt Schwab, and I head up Working Wonders in Brentwood, a nonprofit that serves adults with developmental and related disabilities.

Executive Director Kristen Mingus and the Downtown Brentwood Coalition have been a great partner of Working Wonders.

One of the first things Mingus did in her new position was bring back “Brentwood Downtown Shine,” a weekly job-training partnership with Working Wonders in which adults in our program take on a variety of tasks such as cleaning up city streets and distributing flyers for Brentwood events. It’s a growing relationship and reflects well on the community.

Mingus often gladly participates in these work activities. She is a kind person with a big heart.

The adults in our program cherish their relationship with the DBC. Last week, we worked on the support staff of the highly successful DBC Crab Feed at the Brentwood Community Center.

We believe in opening doors in the community for people who are often left behind, and clearly Kristen and the DBC share that belief.

Thanks to continued support from Kristen we can all shine together for years to come. — thank you.
