Subject: Signage to protect dogs
I put up this plastic sign that I thought was a good idea on the quarry trail but I think it would be nice if the city bought some metal signs to put up around town to have people more aware of the damage they can do to their dog, even though the temperatures are mild With appreciation

Thank you, Mayor Davis and City Council.
Our planet is in unspeakable trouble.
Our city is in desperate need of infrastructure repair, and we have an inordinate budget deficit.
Climate change is all people’s responsibility and will predictably make it harder to survive the challenges of the nature we, as a species, have created. In this case, water rise at the marina will, in the lifetimes of many here, inundate the parking areas under discussion. There is evidence that water rise is already happening.
If this project goes forward, it would be to close our eyes to the state of the world and, most particularly, the state of our city.
As a member of CSSC, I am acutely aware that the only place in Brisbane that has no parking problem is the marina. This defective plan will eliminate a substantial parking area that will eventually be affected by rising water in the best-case scenario.
The United States Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration, states that impact fees gained from developers can be used for off-site services. It is not a tax. It is a one-time charge that should be carefully weighed for the highest and best use for all citizens of this community.
A large and beautiful park will do nothing to address our most pressing issues. I appeal to the sensibility of the entire council to do the right thing and forego the impracticality of a large park project.
Respectfully submitted,
Linda Montenegro Dettmer

Subject: Proposed park
Subject: Concerns and Suggestions Regarding the Marina Park Proposal Dear City Council of Brisbane,
I hope this email finds you well. I am writing to express my concerns and suggestions regarding the proposed park development at the marina in Brisbane. After speaking with numerous individuals within the community, I have discovered that many share the same sentiment as myself - the surrounding area of the marina should not be transformed into a park, especially with amenities and focal points unrelated to the marina itself.
At a recent meeting held at the Sierra Point Yacht Club, it became evident that there was unanimous opposition to the current park project. It appears that the overall marina has not been adequately considered in the planning process thus far. While parks undoubtedly bring value and enjoyment to a community, it is important to ensure that the development aligns with the natural environment and purpose of the marina.
In terms of the alternative parcel, I would like to propose an exciting idea that could potentially benefit the community and generate revenue for the city. Instead of a park, I believe a community building similar to the Mission Blue Center would be a more suitable option. This multipurpose space would provide stunning views of the marina and could house a fully equipped kitchen capable of hosting various events, including wedding receptions. Moreover, this space could accommodate the Harbormaster's office and an office for a boat broker, thereby fostering a stronger connection to the marina activities.
Additionally, I suggest incorporating a vending machine room within the community building. This would provide convenient food and coffee options for individuals utilizing the nearby bay trail. Not only would this enhance the overall experience for visitors, but it could also contribute to the financial success of the city.
Considering the potential benefits and the opportunity to create something truly remarkable, I kindly request a pause on the current proposed plans. It is crucial that further research and comprehensive analysis be conducted to ensure that the final decision regarding the marina development is economically viable and in the best interest of the community.
Thank you for your time and attention to these concerns and suggestions. I believe that by exploring alternative options and conducting thorough research, we can discover a solution that not only respects the marina's identity but also presents a wonderful opportunity for the city of Brisbane.
Warm regards,
Ron Davis
