Finance Director Yuen reported that tonight’s action is to adopt a resolution placing an Ordinance amending sections of Title 5, Division I on the ballot. The Ordinance would revise the current tiered tax structure to a simpler structure: 1) businesses with gross receipts of $25,000 or less would pay $50; 2) most other businesses with gross receipts or cost of operations greater than $25,000 would pay $50 plus an additional $1.00 per every $1,000 of gross receipts over $25,000.
