AN ORDINANCE OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY
OF BURBANK AUTHORIZING AN AMENDMENT TO
THE CONTRACT BETWEEN THE CITY OF
BURBANK AND THE BOARD OF ADMINISTRATION
OF THE CALIFORNIA PUBLIC EMPLOYEES’
RETIREMENT SYSTEM TO ADD COST SHARING
PURSUANT TO GOVERNMENT CODE SECTION
20516.
City Attorney Synopsis
This ordinance authorizes amendment of the City’s contract with the C alifornia Public Employees' Retirement System (PERS) to allow Classic members of PERS to pay half the normal cost of their pension cost.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK DOES ORDAIN AS FOLLOWS:
1. That an amendment to the contract between the Council of the City of Burbank and the Board of Administratio n, California Public Employees' Retirement System is hereby authorized, a copy of said amendment being attached hereto, marked Exhibit, and by such reference made a part hereof as though herein set out in full.
2. The Mayor of the City of Burbank , or their designee, is hereby authorized, empowered, and directed to execute said amendment for and on behalf of said Agency.
3. This Ordinance shall take effect at 12:01 AM of the thirty -first day after the date of its adoption.
