I'd like to express my support for the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan (GGRP) update and the subsequent implementation plan. The GGRP aligns with the goals established within the Burbank2035 general plan, allows the city to make meaningful progress towards reducing the city's carbon footprint, and mitigates the effects of our rapidly changing climate. The electrification goals in the plan particular resonate with me, as I believe that reducing reliance on fossil fuels will not only benefit our environment, but will also have health benefits for Burbankers. Thank you for your support!

Tomorrow CDD will present the GGRP for review and approval. After many months in collaboration with colleagues, boards and commissioners the GGRP is ready for approval. While not a perfect document, one that begins the process of addressing greenhouse gas emissions within the city. Please approve so we can all begin working to perfect the plan through implementation. Thank you for your support of the Sustainable Coordinator position, the person key to ensuring success of GGRP coordination among all city departments.

Mayor Talamantes & City Councilpersons, I urge you to approve the GGRP Update and related negative declaration. It is critical that Burbank identify and support a wide range of priorities and actions to address climate change and other sustainability issues. The GGRP includes many non-negotiable compliance requirements and key areas where Burbank has an opportunity to catch up and possibly get ahead of risks. CDD staff has worked hard with cross-functional stakeholders and been responsive to input from the Sustainable Burbank Commission.

This plan is necessary to move forward. Thank you.
