Charter Review Committee Topics of Discussion
Each Charter Review Committee member submitted an individual list of topics for discussion prior to the April 14, 2022 meeting.
• Implementation of a requirement for city department heads to participate in a public hearing prior to assuming office
• Term Limits for Council and Boards and Commissions
• Capping election funds when running for City Council
• Implementation of a requirement for the City Manager to present an annual report to the City Council on the role/impact of development in Burbank
• Investigation of the current City Council model (i.e. council districts, number of council members, independently elected mayor)
• Voters elect mayor and 4 other council members
• Council vacancy due to absence of 3+ consecutive meetings without permission of the Council
• Increase the amount of time to pass an ordinance from 6 days to 30 days
