Too little too late. Under the current law we were entitled to a CUP, plus they demolished
more than one half of the old structure which should have invalidated their permit.
Yes this will make it clearer but a CUP would have brought all
of the problems of Raising
Kane ( a mediocre chicken
restaurant) to light. Our neighborhood did the work that CDD should have done. No neighborhood should have to put up with the traffic, trash and parking issues that were created and we predicted. Other cities had made the mistakes already. I am not sure if we had put it in the Empire center that it would work. In n Out is a similar
problem
taking up a lane of 1st street. Why didn't CDD do its job and do the research and follow the rules? CDD has grown too big and needs to be broken up into smaller segments or we need someone who can do a better job as it exists!
