RESOLUTION NO. ____________
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURBANK AUTHORIZING THE GRANT APPLICATION,
ACCEPTANCE, AND EXECUTION FOR THE ADVANCED
METERING INFRASTRUCTURE UP GRADE PROJECT
AND TURF REPLACEMENT PROJECT
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK FINDS:
1. The City of Burbank proposes to implement an upgrade to the City’s advanced metering infrastructure (the AMI Upgrade Project) and to implement a direct installation program for turf replacement with drought-tolerant landscaping (Turf Replacement Project).
2. The City of Burbank has the legal authority and is authorized to enter into a funding agreement with the State of California; and
3. The City of Burbank intends to apply for grant funding from the California Department of Water Resources Urban Community Drought Relief Grant Program for the AMI Upgrade Project and Turf Replacement Project;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burbank as follows:
1. That pursuant and subject to all of the terms and provisions of Budget Act of 2021 (Stats. 2021, ch. 240, § 80) as amended (Stats. 2022, ch. 44, § 25), the General Manager of Burbank Water and Power (BWP), as designee of the City of Burbank City Manager, is hereby authorized and directed to prepare and file an application for funding with the Department of Water Resources and take such other actions necessary or appropriate to accept and obtain grant funding for the AMI Upgrade Project and the Turf Replacement Project.
2. The General Manager of BWP, as designee of the City of Burbank City Manager, is hereby authorized and directed to execute the funding agreement with the Department of Water Resources and any amendments thereto.
3. The General Manager of BWP, as designee of the City of Burbank City Manager, is hereby authorized and directed to submit any required documents, invoices, and reports required to obtain grant funding and any other documents, invoices and reports required under the funding agreement.

4. The City approves and authorizes BWP to provide the matching funding and/or in-kind contributions specified in the grant application funding plan for up to (a) 25% for the AMI Upgrade Project and (b) 5% for the Turf Replacement Project.
