Name of Business Please share anything that you feel is important for us to know regarding the impacts of the closure of San Fernando Blvd. on your business:

Ike's Sandwhiches We do not feel it is safe because there are way too many people dining too close together. None of my crew feels safe walking around in Downtown. The restaurants in the area need to adhere to the 6‐feet dining distance and customer limitation.

Gyu‐Kaku BBQ Our Take‐Out has dropped, there is less street parking for delivery drivers.

Season Thai I see more people come to Downtown Burbank, but most of them looking for table to sit down. There are a lot of rule for the businesses in the area that not allow them to get table for customer because it is too much cost.

CRZ Properties LLC (Amy Zidell) Strongly believe when dine‐in food service returns, San Fernando Blvd. should re‐open.  At a time when so much activity is limited, temporary partial closure probably offers benefits.  However, while it may attract people, is that translating into sales and business?  City charging existing businesses 'rent' for sidewalk or street space during pandemic doesn't seem appropriate.  Maybe a certain portion can be provided without additional cost to businesses.  Businesses doing everything they can to stay viable under difficult circumstances don't need additional burdens now.

Questions on sales/customers No Change and 0 as more relevant to retail, service and food biz.

TAP The Asian Project Our sales has dropped significantly since the closure of San Fernando Blvd.

Gourmet 88 Having it closed is better, it brings customers out more more spacious to everyone.

Boba Loca Burbank Safer out for our customers and everyone has more space to keep 6 feet or more.

Over/Under Public House Outdoor dining is great, we are attracting a lot of customers from outside the City and we have data on our customers and a lot are not from Burbank.

AT&T Major loss of foot traffic w/ no visible parking discourages retail shopping and primarily benefits restaurants.

Gap Factory Store Please ensure that everyone is following social distancing and putting on their masks when they are done eating.

Hummus Republic Would be OK if it is permanant.

Granville Cafe Block sidewalks from pedestrians for restaurants.

Kopan Ramen PPP was running out, but outdoor dining allowed us to bring in more workers and be able to pay bills. We are not making a profit yet, but hopefully with how things are turning.

Fuji Ya We are greatful about downtown Burbank and City of Burbank for keep our business running.

Gordon Biersch The street closure and additional tables has kept this business going. Even if indoor dining opens, people are more comfortable eating outside. I have had complaints about foot traffic on sidewalk. Would be nice if people could walk down street instead of sidewalk Burbank Tower Pharmacy  There isn’t enough foot traffic or patrons to restaurants to warrant a full closure. My business has suffered dramatically.

ATTACHMENT 7-10
Fantasia Billiards  Fantasia reopened right before street closure.  Important thing is that traffic flow brings action, noise and kind of excitement that people come out to see they can see what is "happening" by simply driving by. With closure lots of potential driving customers are cut off from opportunity to view and decide where to stop. Also with closure We have under age with family not the kind to spend cash and give City and businesses the money they need and promote Down Town as a mature and night life environment..  most of the people like to date and dine in privacy of indoor and in a cozy situation....  you do not see young kids or babies in Granville, Gorden Beirsch, Fantasia, Volcano or other big ones.... Please do not compare with 3rd str Santa Monica or Colorado in Pasadena....  those places are dead at 8p or 9p because of unfortunately homelessness and lack of safety. Thank You Second Reply: We send this very same survey twice.  Traffic makes attraction and noise... parking spaces are all empty ... simple fact that current closure not working ... if you decide to close let us know for how long so we know how much to spend to bring the business out side... we know when whether is windy  hot or raining no one comes...  You don’t have to ask owners... see what is happening in parking spaces in parking structure.

Thank you for asking.    Parking stutterers are all empty even though no car parks on San Fernando.... indicates loss of business for all.... simple reality.  Traffic nose it self brings attraction and action to the area, people like to drive to see what is going on and where to stop.  3rd street is not a good example, place is dead after 8 because of unfortunately homeless population. Same for Pasadena.    This is 3 survey i have received and responded.    Thank you
Yogurtland Should consider making this a permanent courtyard and food court, perhaps allow Cart Vending or other entertainment platforms.

Shake Shack As long as dining rooms are closed in restaurants, we would benefit from the street closure.

The Great Grill If dine in doesn't open, street should be closed, small shops need all the help to try and stay open.

Sweety's Candies Personally, I would like the closure to last until the COVID situation is under control, at least until dining in restaurants is allowed again.

Story Tavern KEEP IT CLOSED.

Inspire Martial Arts & Fitness We are a martial arts studio located on the corner of San Fernando and Olive. We celebrated our 10 year anniversary earlier this year. Until last Thursday, we were hosting classes outside in front of our school. We were told the closure of San Fernando was not for us specifically. All of our parents and students have been excited to resume live in person classes and parents have shared the countless benefits of having their children be able to exercise and socialize safely. If restaurants can use the street to allow their business to survive, why can't we?     The closure of San Fernando is ONLY beneficial if all business are allowed to use the street area. All of our answers are only true if our business is extended the same opportunities and courtesy that the city has offered restaurants.     Please expand the ordinance to include ALL businesses access to the street along the closed sections of San Fernando. We are all in this together. The City of Burbank has a grand opportunity to help its small businesses not only survive but THRIVE. Thank you.

Noah's Bagels Please open San Fernando BL back. Im loosing $2,500 weekly after it got close, its really not helping my morning business. Thank you.

The Coffee Bean and Tea leaf Since closing the Street we have lost many of our customers. The closure isn't benefiting us at all. We have gotten more complaints than ever before about the street being closed down.

Ben & Jerry’s  One bad thing is increased trash. There's a lot more littering on the streets and trash cans are overflowing. Guests are not cleaning up after themselves. Maybe an increase in trash cans and clean up presence would be a solution.

Q3 The San Fernando Reconfiguration Project would reconfigure San Fernando Boulevard between Olive Avenue and Magnolia Boulevard. The purpose is to increase vehicular and pedestrian safety in Downtown Burbank. The project would reduce points of pedestrian/vehicle conflict and slow vehicles where they interact with pedestrians. The project would use “quick-build” materials that could be easily reversed after a one-year trial. Two options have been proposed for the project. ANSWER CHOICES RESPONSES
One-way Reconfiguration: Change San Fernando from one lane in each direction to only one northbound lane. Shorten pedestrian street crossings and slow vehicle speeds. Maintain existing on-street angled parking and in-street dining parklets.

Full Street Closure: Close San Fernando to all but emergency vehicles. Remove existing on-street angled parking and maintain in-street dining parklets. The street would be open to pedestrian traffic only.

Maintain Existing Street Configuration: Keep San Fernando open to traffic in both directions. Maintain existing on- street angled parking and in-street dining parklets.
