STAFF’S RECOMMENDATION
• Budgetary constraints faced today
• High cost ($500k) to provide a one-year service with
unknown demand
• Increased limitations on vehicle fleet
• Opportunity for more comprehensive service planning
related to Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Transit
Electrification
• Cancellation would offset costs associated with the
proposed MV contract amendment
• While Option 1 achieves Council’s Service Policies,
Staff recommends Option 2 due to other factors:
NEXT STEPS
• Metro BusRapid Transit
(BRT) North Hollywood to
Pasadena Transit Corridor
in 2024.
• Staff will re-evaluate
Pink Route in 2023
• Zero Emission Bus Plan
Rollout in Summer 2023
• Opportunity to Evaluate
Coordinated Service
with Glendale Beeline
CONCLUSION
1. Approve Amendment to the Transit Operational and
Maintenance Agreement with MV Public
Transportation, Inc.
2. Approve service changes to the BurbankBus Green
Route
3. Amend the Fiscal Year 2022-23 Budget by
appropriating $110,000
