Interests & Experiences
Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve.
Why are you interested in serving on a board, commission or committee? I rented a home and Burbank for 10 years and when our landlord decided to move into the house, bought a condo right over the Burbank border, because we couldn’t afford a house in Burbank. I worked in Burbank at Disney for 26 years, and during covid, sold the condo, bought a house in Burbank and got a new job at Netflix- still in Burbank. I feel real love for this community and want to be involved.

Well, I’m considered a senior citizen, I guess- or will be one soon. I was on the board of my HOA for 2 years.
I've worked in production management in animation for 28 years and feel like a lot of that skill set translates to being on a community committee.
I'm very organized and action oriented.
I'm an excellent
team player.
I know how to listen and feel like I would be a good representative for other seniors in the community.

Why are you interested in serving on a board, commission or committee? I served one term on the Senior Citizen Board, 2014-2018. I believe I can again be of service to the City by offering to complete Bill Smith's term of office. I am interested in furthering the current goals of the Senior Citizen Board in particular to continue to monitor and expand programs for Seniors in Burbank and to participate in and assist with Senior projects and special events. If it is safe to do so, I would like to see those members of the Senior Citizen Boar, who wish to, once again go out into the community and promote the activities and services the City offers and get feedback as to what needs still exist. Previously we called this the Senior Ambassador Task Force.

The wire component of the finance department was charged with protecting the assets of the company through due diligence of proper banking practices, indemnification and disbursement of funds.
Competencies and qualities required for this position include: a high level of customer service with a satisfactory outcome, working with a multitude of internal systems, adherence to deadlines, multi -tasking with minimal error, training within and outside the department, honesty, organization, integrity and teamwork.
In my last annual review my manager wrote: "excelled in personal leadership, customer service, problem solving, team work, instructing others, was extremely dedicated and modeled a high level of ethics and integrity."
Payroll Specialist
Dealt with many facets of the payroll process including: audits, coordination of money transfers to financial institutions, distribution of checks, consultations with employees (at all levels) and other HR departments and calculations for final pay and leaves of absence.
My favorite aspect of the job was customer service: listening with a caring attitude, solving problems, answering questions, explaining procedures and policies, adhering to strict confidentiality guidelines and returning calls promptly. It was important that my “customers” felt well treated even though they might not agree with the information they received.

Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve.
Why are you interested in serving on a board, commission or committee? As a family caregiver, turned advocate, I feel I have a unique voice to add to the Senior Commission. My mom lived with Alzheimer's dementia for nearly a decade. We cared for her at home for about half of the journey and she was in a facility, here in Burbank, for the second half. One in three Seniors is living with some kind of dementing illness. One in two of people over 85. My dad is 82, and living with Alzheimer's as well - he recently came to live with us. We've worked in Burbank, at the studios for nearly 30 years. My husband and I also provide education to organizations, care facilities and families on leading edge therapies for people living with dementia. Dementia friendly cities are beacons of hope for families and older people. I would love the opportunity to serve on Burbank's Senior Commission and contribute to supporting better lives for older adults in Burbank.

Interests & Experiences
Please tell us about yourself and why you want to serve.
Why are you interested in serving on a board, commission or committee? I'm interesting in serving the board because I now have the time to give back to my community. This community has given us so much while raising our kids. With my experience as a nurse, I feel I can bring that knowledge and apply it to the needs of our seniors (I'm now one of them). The many years as an ICU nurse and as a administrator in the hospital provided with enough geriatric experience to share my thoughts when discussing the needs of seniors in our community.
