Dear Ms. Lombardini.
We write to you today to respectfully encourage the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers (AMPTP) to reach a prompt and equitable agreement in its ongoing negotiations with the Writers Guild of America (WGA). For over a century, Burbank has been at the forefront of the entertainment industry, a hub where movie magic comes to life. The entertainment sector has been the backbone of our community, with over 1,000 entertainment companies and 39,000 industry jobs now calling the city home. The hardworking men and women employed in the entertainment industry make up the very fabric of our Burbank community, as many of them not only work but also reside in our beautiful city.
We understand that the issues at hand are complex and involve a multitude of factor s, but we strongly believe that it is in the best interest of both parties to resolve these issues in a timely and amicable manner. As the Media Capital of the World, t he entertainment industry is a vital part of Burbank’s economy and culture, and it relies on the collaboration between producers and writers to create high-quality content that audiences love.
We recognize that negotiations can be challenging, and it is not always easy to find common ground. However, we believe that by working together and keeping an open mind, both AMPTP and WGA can come to a mutually beneficial agreement that will benefit everyone involved.
We urge both organizations to prioritize the needs of the industry and the people who rely on it for their livelihoods. We are confident that a quick and fair resolution is within reach, and hope that you will take the necessary steps to make it a reality.
