Design Concept
The new Officer Matthew Pavelka
Tribute is an addition to the existing
“Defenders of the Constitution”
tribute. A new concrete plinth
would be located to the west of
the sculpture, complementing the
existing ones to the north and south.
Materials and geometry of the new
plinth would be the same as the two
existing plinths.
A new flagpole is located to the right
of the new plinth. It is also located to
the right of the entire ensemble when
approaching from Riverside Drive.
Power for uplighting will be trenched
from the nearest existing street light
on Riverside Drive.
The new flagpole is a 25-foot tall
commercial grade pole with an
internal halyard. The flag size is five
feet by eight feet.
