A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURBANK AUTHORIZING THE SUBMITTAL OF AN
INDIVIDUAL GRANT APPLICATION FOR SENATE BILL
1383 LOCAL ASSISTANCE GRANT FUNDS TO THE
CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES
RECYCLING AND RECOVERY (CALRECYCLE) AND
DELEGATION OF AUTHORITY TO PUBLIC WORKS
DIRECTOR TO APPLY FOR, FINALIZE, AND EXECUTE
SENATE BILL 1383 -RELATED GRANT DOCUMENTS FOR
THE NEXT FIVE YEARS
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK FINDS:
A. Public Resources Code sections 48000 et seq. authorizes the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to administer various grant programs (grants) in furtherance of the State of California’s (state) efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the state t hereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment.
B. In furtherance of this authority , CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants.
C. CalRecycle grant application procedures require, among other things, an applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the administration of CalRecycle grants.
D. The City Council desires to authorize the Public Works Director or their designee to apply for such grants for the next five years.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK RESOLVES:
1. That the City of Burbank authorizes the submittal of application(s) to CalRecycle for Senate Bill 1383 Local Assistance Grant Funds.
2. That the Public Works Director, or their designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Burbank all grant documents, including but not limited to, applications, agreements, amendments and requests for payment, necessary to secure grant funds and implement the approved grant project.

2 3. That these authorizations are effective for five years from the date of adoption.
