Summary of Meeting
1. Purpose of Meeting – To walk the City Council through a draft of the land use and zoning regulations City staff is developing for firearm and ammunition retailers.

3. Feedback Received from Public Comment:
a. Burbank business may be affected by the regulations. There is no nexus between crime and firearm and ammunition retailers.
b. Consider adding new uses to the definition of “Sensitive Uses” that is used for distance separation, such as medical uses/facilities.
4. Feedback Received from City Council:
a. Provide opportunities for stakeholder and community outreach. b. Consider distance separation between firearm and ammunition retailers.
This would help prevent clustering in one area.
c. Consider having the City Council be the final decision maker for all the discretionary review applications (Conditional Use Permit) associated with new firearm and ammunition retailers.
d. Investigate a potential re -certification process for existing firearm retailers that would be deemed non -conforming if any of the distance separation requirements are adopted.
