I n the wake of the ongoing war in Gaza, the City Council of Burbank reaffirms our commitment to our v alues of embraci ng di v ersi ty , equi ty , and i nclusi on. W e seek to redouble our efforts to bring our community together in productive and healing ways. We unequivocally denounce bigotry, hat e, and any form of harassment, threat and violence , parti cularly i n thi s moment with ris ing le ve ls of antisemitism and I slamophobia .
Furthe rmore , this body adv ocates f or peace, saf ety , di gni ty , freedom, and equali ty f or all people , s triving to be a c ity which leads the way i n plurali sm, i nclusi v i ty , and understanding.

W HE R E A S, a core goal of the Burbank City Council is to ensure that diversity, equity, and inclusion is fully embraced at the Ci ty lev el.
WHEREAS, in 2022, the City of Burbank proclaimed the week of Nov ember 13-19 as U ni ted A gai nst Hate W eek, af f i rmi ng the Ci ty ’ s dedi cati on to opposi ng hate, educati ng resi dents on compassi on, and embraci ng cultural di f f erences between nei ghbors to bri dge di v i si ons and strengthen the Burbank community.
WHEREA S, the ongoing war in Gaza has impacted local communi ti es i n B urbank, as ev i denced by ri si ng lev els of hate across L os A ngeles County, inc luding a ntis e mitis m a nd I slamophobia.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT DECLARED by the City Council of Burbank that:
A. The B urbank City Council unequivocally denounces all forms of hate , intolerance , and v i olence.
B. T he B urbank Ci ty Counci l adv ocates f or peace, saf ety , di gni ty , f reedom, and equali ty f or all people, stri v i ng to be a ci ty whi ch leads the way i n plurali sm, inclusivity, and understanding.
C. Our governing body seeks to redouble our efforts to bring our community together in productive and healing ways.
