Thoughts on Letter of Support- sample
The Burbank City Council has listened to the many perspectives on the conflict in the Israel-Palestinian war from hundreds of passionate and engaged community members.
We are in support of President Biden’s May 31st proposal to achieve a permanent cease- fire which is also backed by a United Nations Security Council resolution.
The past nine months thousands of innocent people, including women, children, and humanitarian workers have been killed or wounded. For months, people all over the world have called for an end to the violence. We join our collective voices with all people of goodwill who want peace.
President Biden, in his remarks delivered on May 31st , summarized the proposal stating that the plan is a roadmap to the release of all hostages and a n enduring ceasefire over a series of phases. The proposal also “ensures Israel’s security, creates a better ‘day after’ in Gaza without Hamas in power, and sets the stage for a political settlement that provides a better future for Israelis and Palestinians alike.” We are hopeful that the complex and diplomatic negotiations toward peace, after a tragic terrorist attack and subsequent bombings, will meet with a peaceful and successful resolution. We support the important and continuous efforts that lead to a lasting and permanent ceasefire that ensures a better future for all.
The city of Burbank is a unique place where we seek to foster a culture of fair treatment, inclusion, respect and fundamental freedoms. We stand united with our community against identity-based hate, all acts of violence, bigotry, intimidation, anti -Semitism and Islamophobia. This letter of support is an action presented in the spirit of peace and unity as we continue to build bridges of understanding in our own community.
