A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURBANK AUTHORIZING ACCEPTANCE OF FUNDS
FROM THE SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA LIBRARY
COOPERATIVE IN THE AMOUNT OF $7,535.00 AND
AMENDING THE FISCAL YEAR 2024 -25 ADOPTED
BUDGET BY APPROPRIATING FUNDS AND AUTHORIZE
THE CITY MANAGER , OR HIS DESIGNEE, TO EXECUTE
THE AGREEMENT AND ANY AMENDMENTS THERETO
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK FINDS:
A. In May 2024, the Southern California Library Collective (“SCLC”) Administrative Council approved a one-time roll over of funds to be distributed to its members to be specifically designated for electronic resources to its member libraries.
B. The City of Burbank (“City”) is a voting member of the SCLC, a consortium of 40 independent city, county, and special district libraries located in Los Angeles and Ventura counties.
C. The City received an allocation of $7,535.00 for funding of content credit to be applied to the Library’s Hoopla digital streaming platform, a product of Midwest Tape.
D. Increased funding in electronic resources will allow the Library to expand on its highly demanded digital collection and provide additional materials to directly benefit Library patrons.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK RESOLVES:
1. The forgoing recitals are true and correct and incorporated as if restated herein in their entirety.
2. City Council hereby authorizes the City Manager, or his designee, to accept $7,535.00 in funding received from the Southern California Library Cooperative (SCLC).
3. The City’s Fiscal Year 2024- 25 Annual Budget is amended to appropriate $7,535.00 from 001.LB000.48010 (General Fund, Library Services, Other Intergovernmental Revenues) to 001.LB02A.62425.1001 (General Fund, Library Services, Public Services, Library Resource Materials, Electronic Resources).

2 4. The Director of Library Services, or his/her designee, as an authorized designee for the City Manager , is authorized to execute any agreements and sign any required documents to execute said funding resources from Southern California Library Cooperative on behalf of the City.
