A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
BURBANK AUTHORIZING SUBMITTAL OF APPLICATIONS
TO THE CALIFORNIA DEPARTMENT OF RESOURCES
RECYCLING AND RECOVERY (CALRECYCLE) FOR ALL
CALRECYCLE GRANTS FOR WHICH THE CITY OF
BURBANK IS ELIGIBLE
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK FINDS:
A. Public Resources Code sections 48 000 et seq. authorize the Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) to administer various grant programs (Grants) in furtherance of the State of California’s (S tate) efforts to reduce, recycle and reuse solid waste generated in the S tate thereby preserving landfill capacity and protecting public health and safety and the environment; and
B. In furtherance of this authority CalRecycle is required to establish procedures governing the application, awarding, and management of the grants; and
C. CalRecycle grant application procedures require, among other things, an applicant’s governing body to declare by resolution certain authorizations related to the administration of CalRecycle grants.
THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURBANK RESOLVES:
1. That the Council of the City of Burbank authorizes the submittal of application(s) to CalRecycle for all grants for which the City of Burbank is eligible.
2. That the City Manager, or his/her designee, is hereby authorized and empowered to execute in the name of the City of Burbank all grant documents with CalRecycle, including but not limited to, applications, agreements (with review and approval by the City Attorney or his/her designee) , amendments (with review and approval by the City Attorney or his/her designee), and requests for payment, necessary to secure grant funds and implement approved grant project (s), unless City Council approval is otherwise required by the Burbank Municipal Code.

2 3. These authorizations are effective for five (5) years from the date of adoption of this resolution.
